Immigration and Refugees

NCJW believes in the rights of immigrants and refugees to seek lawful asylum, residency, and citizenship in the United States.  NCJW Miami marched with other faith-based organizations at the detention center in Homestead, Florida. On two occasions the Miami section set up a “family tent” and provided water, snacks, and activities for March participants. The section also held a rally and press conference outside the City Hall of North Miami.

Currently, the section is engaged in the fight to ensure ICE treats Muslim detainees with dignity and respect and stops forcing them to eat pork (against their religious beliefs) or starve.
