Gun Violence Prevention
While NCJW upholds the 2nd Amendment right to bear arms, it does not support the sale of assault-style weapons to private citizens. Too many tragedies have resulted due to the ease in which these weapons are obtained. NCJW advocates for lawmakers to pass legislation requiring stringent background checks for all gun purchases and banning the sale of assault weapons to private citizens altogether. NCJW has partnered with BAWN (Ban Assault Weapons Now) for over 2 years. While its ballot initiative was stopped by the Florida Supreme Court, we continue to support its efforts to ally legislators with its mission.
